 The year 2020 hasn't been good to many many

Now it should silently go without distressing any

The sound of the empty classrooms scares and stares 
The playground wants to be ecstatic again, so do the silent stairs

The trees bloom in gloom, the birds wait for the break in the ground
The playpen, the slides and the swings , want the merry kids around

When I left teaching, a year or two before, I had plans galore
But this year, full of fear year, has shaken me to the core

The teachers  working 24x7 online and off and in school
With Principals and Teachers working overtime 
The schools are definitely not closed  but are a virtual tool

The empty classroom syndrome is hitting hard
In spite of a stylish name 20-20, this year has the poorest report card

The jingle bells, the Christmas Tree, The Santa Claus and the bare walls
 want the children back in school after this winter break 


Let's pray for joy and fun for everyone in 2021
A prosperous, healthy and young 21

And yes, to overcome the imagery of empty classroom syndrome
I will visit each school in sight to see the classroom full of laughter 
of the naughty ones
Happy New year 2021
